Troubleshooting & FAQ

A store does not update

  1. Is the group live? The group badge must say Live sync. In test mode Qantory only previews.
  2. Is a store paused? A badge “1 store paused” and a banner on the group’s Stores tab show it. Choose Resume.
  3. Is the product confirmed? Check the Products tab. If you changed its barcode or SKU in Shopify, scan and confirm it again.
  4. Is the location attached? The change must happen at a location attached to a shared stock location in both stores.
  5. Look at Issues. Each issue explains its cause and the next step.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need Qantory in every store?

Yes, install it in every store you want to connect. Only the store that creates the sync group needs a paid plan.

Is sync two-way?

Yes. Every store in a group is equal: a sale, refund or stock adjustment in any store updates the others.

Does Qantory change prices, products or orders?

No. Qantory reads products to recognise them and changes only the available quantity at shared stock locations.

What if two stores sell the last item at the same time?

With Prevent overselling, the lower quantity wins. See How sync works.

My products have no barcodes.

Match the group by SKU. See Matching products by barcode or SKU.

The store code does not work.

A code works once and expires after 15 minutes. Show a new code in the second store and type it in the store that owns the group.

A product shows “Synced by another group”.

A store’s product can be in one sync group only. Remove the store from the other group, or confirm the product there.

The Stores page asks me to reconnect.

Shopify permissions are missing or were revoked. Choose Reconnect and approve Qantory again.

The product scan takes long.

Large catalogues take a few minutes and the scan continues in the background. A scan running for more than 30 minutes is reported as failed; choose Scan again.

Can I undo a sync?

Qantory records every change on the Activity tab. To bring stores back in line, set the right quantity in one store (it syncs to the others) or run Stock check & repair.
